Drinks
Budapest is one of Europe's cheapest cities for a night out: €1.50–4 a beer in a ruin bar or on a terrace, €6–10 a cocktail. A crawl through Erzsébetváros adds up fast if everyone's on shots, but you're still well below Paris prices. On average, plan €15–35 per night if you keep it sensible.
Food
Eating out stays very affordable: €6–12 for a simple meal, €15–25 for a proper group dinner. Ruin bars and food halls like Karaván are ideal for feeding the whole group without blowing the budget. Still book ahead for stag dinners — the best spots fill up fast at weekends.
Transport
Budapest is a compact city — ruin bars, restaurants and clubs in the centre are often within walking distance. For longer trips or getting home after a night out, a 6-seater taxi runs €5–10, metro or tram around €1. Always book via Bolt or Uber to avoid street taxi scams.

Budapest works year-round, but not every season is equal for a stag do. Here's how we advise groups to pick dates based on vibe and budget.
Terraces & ruin bars without the crush
The most booked window for stag dos: April and May go fast. The city wakes up, terraces open and ruin bars are lively without summer saturation — book 2–3 months ahead.
Heat & nightlife on full blast
Danube, rooftops and nights that run late. Between concerts, sports events and festivals, prices tend to spike — mid-August gets busy as Sziget fills the city and hotels go fast. Plan ahead for the tank or a VIP table.
Our favourite window
Still mild in the evening, fewer crowds than August and often better hotel rates. Perfect for tank, thermal baths and a big night out without the squeeze.
Thermal baths & warm clubs
Cold outside, but Széchenyi at 38°C and clubs are properly heated. Fewer tourists, good deals — Sunday spa fixes almost any rough morning.
For April–June weekends, book early: that's when stag demand peaks.

The areas we recommend for a great stag weekend.
For a stag do in Budapest, the best move is to stay on the Pest side, in the centre, close to the bars, restaurants, activities and transport. Hotel, apartment or hostel: base yourself around Deák Ferenc tér, Belváros, Terézváros or Erzsébetváros to cut down on travel and make the most of the weekend.
Central & first stag
The most central pick for a first stag do. Steps from Deák Ferenc tér and the Danube: handy, safe and ideal for a group.
Bars & clubs
The sweet spot between comfort and nights out. Around Andrássy and the Opera, close to bars and activities without sleeping in the chaos.
Heart of the party
The heart of the night in Budapest. Ruin bars, Szimpla Kert, Instant-Fogas, Kazinczy utca, Király utca: perfect for going out without wasting time in taxis.

It all starts in 2017, between Bangkok and Budapest. Jérémy quickly spots everything that's wrong with stag dos in Eastern Europe: inflated prices, middlemen everywhere, groups treated like numbers.
The spark comes one night, watching The Hangover. Today, we plan your stag do in Budapest like we would for our own mates: no bullshit and no middlemen.

Our Budapest stag packs start at €99/person (activities and planning, accommodation and flights aside). For a full 2-night weekend with accommodation, most groups land between €180-250 on a budget, €350-450 in comfort, and €550+ for VIP. We send back a detailed, line-by-line quote tuned to your group and dates.
Friday to Sunday, 2 nights, is the default from Paris (~2h20, ID card only). Two big nights, one tank or shooting slot, baths the next day — it fits without sprinting. A third night buys you the cruise or club you kept postponing.
What we see work best: Erzsébetváros (Szimpla, Instant), thermal baths, tank or shooting range, a cruise, then either a chilled night or full VIP. Don't stack everything on Saturday lunchtime — we help you space it so the groom is still vertical on Sunday.
Sleep on the Pest side, not Buda: District V near Deák for central, District VII if you want ruin bars in your slippers. At 2am, 5 minutes on foot vs 25 in a taxi is real money. We can bundle accommodation in a pack depending on group size.
Of course. Start from a pack, bolt on two catalogue activities, swap the hotel — we rebuild the schedule with proper timings. No €150/day guide watching you drink: a clear plan, confirmed bookings and the team's WhatsApp if a driver runs late.

With 10 lads and wheelie bags, the airport taxi queue turns into musical chairs. The 100E bus works on a tight budget; we often send a van straight to the hotel — first pint sooner.
Kazinczy, Király, Deák: walk it. Metro line 1 for longer hops, Bolt when nobody can read a map anymore. Skip random street taxis — official apps are how you avoid a nasty surprise on the bill.
15, 20, sometimes more — Budapest handles it, especially ruin bars and baths. Above that we may split for tank slots or run two transfers. Between 10 and 18 is where price and logistics usually balance best.
